Hello, and Bear Hugs! My name is Anita M. Spero, and I have what some would call a Bear Obsession- I absolutely love creating my teddy bears. Bringing a smile to someone else's face is just about the best thing in the world to me! A full time graduate Education student, I hope to continue making bears for a very long time. Please feel free to contact me if you would like a custom piece!

Be sure to check out the following links, where East Bench Bears has been published!

I'm a finalist in the first annual URSA awards, sponsored by Bears and Buds Webzine! Hurray!! Strawbeary and I took fifth place in our category, and cannot wait until the 2007 competition!

Making a mohair bear truly is a labor of love! Each bear takes between eight to twelve hours to complete, depending upon the size and complexity of the design. I like each of my bears to have certain distinguishing features: a large muzzle, and rather large feet! This is truly my very first love!

Needlefelting, another technique that I use to create miniature bears, is a time consuming process involving wool rovings, small needles, and NO PATTERNS! It is so much fun to take a blob of wool, and sculpt it into a darling bear baby!
If you have any questions about my art, please, feel free to ask! :)
